Open House Nov 9th 2014

The open house was a success . I got lots of good comments and people Loved the space. The complements on the remnant series were quite profound and moved me to a deeper understanding of these works. Other than the museum shows that I've had this was probably one of the best looking shows I've put on. Mostly its new work ,with a few older pieces scattered around to make it more interesting. For some reason the sculptur got quite a bit bit of interest, more interest than at the pink dog show last year. Again thanks to everyone who stopped by, It was good to see you and to talk with you. For those of you did not make it you can always call me to schedule an appointment. However now it's back to a working studio, A little messy a Little chaos  ......  . .  . its  good to get back to work. Best Stephen

Most images today are worn out....

I have the impression that most of the images that surround us today are  worn out, they are abused and useless and exhausted. They are limping and dragging themselves behind the rest of our cultural evolution. When I look at the images and advertisements that surround us in magazines , or I turn on the television , or if I take a walk to a travel agency and see those huge posters with that same tedious and rickety image of the Grand Canyon on them, I truly feel there is something dangerous emerging here. The biggest danger, my opinion is television because to a certain degree it ruins our vision that's very sad and lonesome. Television kills our imagination what we end up with  our worn out images because of the inability of two many people to seek out Fresh ones.....werner herzog
